Ok, so I said I wasn't going to use this anymore, but I just need to vent something!
    I am watching Good Day Chicago this morning and one of the stories just broke my heart. It made me wonder where, we as Christians, went wrong. There is a food pantry in the Puhlman neighborhood that has no food! The person who is running this pantry says that the lines on Saturdays are so long and people wait for hours to get some food.
    What happened to the church? Why aren't we, especially us who have been truly blessed, not doing more to make sure this does not happen. Scripture is VERY clear that we should be doing this. Read Isaiah 58 and Micah 6:8 just to start. Are we so caught up in our worlds that we forget that there are so many more people less fortuate than us. You can say that these people don't want to help themselves and that they will just buy achohol, but Jesus didn't say to just help the ones who want to do better. It is not our government's job to help the poor-it's the church's. So we need to get off our butts and start doing something! And I am including myself in this rant! I am gulity of being very self focused, especially lately as I'm planning a wedding and trying to get my condo up for sale. So as I repent again for my selfnesses, I will try to see around me and look for ways to help.

OK, I was told on Saturday that I look like Sara Palin, since she is pretty cool, I'm taking it at as compliment-you know it's me, Tina Fey and Sara are all twins! What I thought was pretty intersting is, I was reading her bio and she was raised catholic, started going to an A/G church and now attends a non-denominational church. Hmmmm that's my history too!
   Does anyone else think I look like her?

 

Well, last night I was at church out on the North Shore and the interim pastor was talking with us about the future of the church. He said he has been praying for weeks now on what the scripture verse(s) should be for Willow Creek Northshore. God gave him Matthew 5:14-16-in case you don't know the signifigance of these verses, they are the theme scripture for Lighthouse Church. Then as he continues on in the vision casting, they pull up the 3 year plan for finding permenant facilities (they currently meet at a Christain school) they announce that they will be buying part of the school and will be remodling it to fit their needs. So I just started going to a church that is starting a building program. I feel like I just finished one!!!!!!!!!!!
    God has a great sense of humor!
